Honors Humanities 12

Welcome to Honors Humanities 12! In the midst of a very weird moment in an off-kilter world, I am so excited to get to spend some time with you making sense of things through literature.

Every day that our class meets, we will begin by reflecting on a poem. The way we reflect might change day to day, but we will spend the first minutes of each meeting thinking about that poem together. While I will make sure to include these poems as individual assignments in the weekly overview, I wanted to begin this page with our poem to help set the tone for our year.

Here is US Poet Laureate Joy Harjo reading her poem, "Perhaps the World Ends Here." I encourage you to read along with the poem as you listen, then add to our Poem of the Day discussion board.

Weekly Overview

In order to successfully complete Module 1, please do the following:

2. Complete the Getting to Know You survey.
3. Sign up for a 1:1 check-in with Ms. Michau.
4. Day One HW: Make a Flipgrid to introduce yourself to your classmates.

Discuss/Question/Clarify:
1. Complete the Day 1 and Day 2 Poem of the Day discussion board posts.
2. Respond to this discussion board about your ideal classroom.
3. Annotate one of Ifemelu's blog posts from Americanah using Hypothesis.
